Cumbria Heating Components (CHC) are specialist suppliers of boilers, burners, water heaters, pumps and all associated spares and equipment to both domestic and commercial markets. Established in 1978, the company is recognised as one of the country’s leading independent suppliers of domestic, commercial and industrial heating equipment, components and spares. With six locations, the business serves a growing client base across the North of England, Scotland and Wales.
In the early years of the business, the provision of office print was made up of desktop printers purchased from a local hardware supplier. This meant that the replacement of cartridges and toners was managed on a ‘pay-as-you-go’ basis.
As the company grew, the cost of replacing the toners and cartridges soon started to mount. Managing Director Rhys Garnett noticed the rising cost during a review of annual expenditure.
“As a business, we keep a very close eye on our costs, so that we can maintain a healthy profit margin whilst still offering our products at a competitive price,” commented Rhys.
Armed with detailed cost figures, Rhys approached Sensible to conduct a print audit and help identify possible cost savings. The objective was to see if leasing the printers inclusive of replacement toners and consumables on a ‘pay monthly’ basis would be more cost effective for CHC.
A year on, and thanks to Sensible, CHC reaped the benefits of leasing its office printers.
“Last year, we were spending £200 per month on replacement toners and cartridges for our office printers,” said Rhys. “Thanks to Sensible that cost has now halved. What’s more, they also replaced all of our printers with brand new ones for free.”
The printers supplied by Sensible are manufactured by Kyocera, one of the leading providers of office printers and document solutions. As such, they are proven to be much more reliable in a business environment compared to domestic printers that are readily available online and in the shops.
