School saves time to focus on pupils’ learning

“The staff are very friendly and easily approachable if you have any problems, they listen and are easy to speak to. Due to the evaluation of the IT equipment, we now seem to be on an even keel and do not need the same level of support as we did before. We are now able to use equipment that is fit for purpose which has saved time overall for pupils’ learning.”

Lynn Cadman – Office Manager

The team at St George’s C of E Primary School, in Barrow-in-Furness, are committed to high standards in all areas, and they are not going to let unreliable technology hold them back. So, after experiencing great support from Sensible for their school photocopiers, they decided to go with IT support as well.

The school previously had limited IT support from another provider. Lynn Cadman, Office Manager at St George’s C of E School told us that “we needed to establish a clear line of support for our IT equipment, the school needed to do a check of equipment to ensure it was fit for purpose”.

To get started, Sensible visited the school to perform an IT Health Check on their current devices and network. Lynn explained that “Sensible enabled the school to check the IT assets and evaluate the remaining laptops and iPads, to ensure they were fit for purpose. This has enabled the school to prioritise on purchases for staff upgrades on current laptops, and to help plan for further upgrades on support staff laptops and iPads”.

During Sensible’s inspection at the school, they established that the server was slow and running out of space, and therefore slowing down the working processes of the team at the school. A new server was required to improve the network and productivity. When asked about this, Lynn said that “Sensible identified a new server upgrade was required, which had its difficulties, but was sorted out professionally”.

We asked Lynn for feedback on the ongoing IT support the school received from Sensible, and she told us that “the staff are very friendly and easily approachable if you have any problems, they listen and are easy to speak to”. She went on to say “due to the evaluation of the IT equipment, we now seem to be on an even keel and do not need the same level of support as we did before. We are now able to use equipment that is fit for purpose which has saved time overall for pupils’ learning”.

St George’s C of E School now have one point of contact for both their copier support and IT support. This saves time as it no longer requires multiple providers to liaise with one another about issues and means that the Sensible engineers can work together and proactively.
